For groups visiting Colorado, an excellent way to see the high country is by All Terrain Vehicle or Jeep.  With some of the best locations to go 4-wheeling in the country, Colorado offers spectacular scenery and thrilling trails that everyone in your group will be talking about for years. Guided operations and equipment rentals are available in many of the popular destinations around the state, making the rush of exploring the road less traveled that much easier to find. It is a great diversion for meeting participants, spouse programs and leisure group activity plans.

Outfits around the state provide one of a kind tours of virtually untracked wilderness, mountain peaks, and historic old roads. Tour famous Camp Hale, training grounds of the 10th Mountain Division, near Beaver Creek, ride through aspen forests, craggy rocks, and over creeks in the San Juans of Durango, loop the Continental Divide near Keystone, ride a 100 + year old mining trail to a flower filled meadow in Silver Creek, take the Last Dollar Road, originally a supply route from Ouray to Telluride, through beautiful ranch country surrounded by the San Juan Mountains with views of the San Miguel canyon, or visit the scenic ghost town of St. Elmo near Steamboat where gold miners made and lost their fortunes.

Jeeping is also a great way to get out with a group.  Ouray (near Telluride and Durango), known as the Jeep Capitol of the World, hosts the Jeep Jamboree rally every fall.  With roads rated from easy to difficult, you can travel over the extreme mountain passes and through wild flower meadows. Or drive to the summit of a Colorado fourteener near Breckenridge. And Jeep tours are a wonderful way to explore Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park. Not only thrilling but educational, many Jeep tours include information on the local geology, mineralogy, and the areas colorful history.

No riding experience is required with most operations as a knowledgeable guide will give you all the proper safety and operation instructions you’ll need to get going. Many outfits also rent the equipment for those inclined to go independently. There are a variety of trails in all regions offering something for every skill level and interest.
