Destination Colorado Focus On: Steamboat Springs

By Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association, Inc.

Located in northwest Colorado, Steamboat Springs is nestled perfectly within the Rocky Mountains with wide-open spaces that create an ideal playground to enjoy outdoor activities or simply relax. Bike your way to a breathtaking overlook, fly fish on the Elk River, launch high above the Valley in a hot air balloon, saddle up for a horseback ride to a remote location or rejuvenate in one of our famous natural hot springs. Nearby reservoirs, rivers, forest and four state parks provide excellent adventure opportunities. Award-winning spas offer much-needed relaxation and rejuvenation. The countless activities available in Steamboat Springs double as wonderful team building opportunities.

With a packed calendar of events, there is something for everyone. Throughout the summer, Steamboat hosts the Pro Rodeo Series, farmers market, various athletic competitions and many popular music concerts. In addition, the area has a diverse amount of art galleries and historic landmarks. Other signature summer events include the Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup, Cowboys’ Roundup Days & 4th of July Celebration, Hot Air Balloon Rodeo, Steamboat Wine Festival, Steamboat All Arts Festival and Steamboat OktoberWest. These events offer great downtime entertainment for meeting attendees.

The new Promenade, a multi-million dollar project, includes the daylighted Burgess Creek, Steamboat Stage, and pedestrian corridor connecting Gondola Square, Torian Plum Plaza and Ski Time Square. Burgess Creek flows right through the heart of the base area for summer visitors to enjoy. The Promenade is the main access point for the Gondola which takes guests up to 9,000 feet for incredible views, mid-mountain dining and access to hiking and biking trails. The Steamboat Stage and Promenade are perfect locations for post-meeting events.
